These products are available under the Server Subscriptions for Azure (see December 2018 Product Terms page 58 and onwards). During the subscription period customers have the right to newer versions published and even downgrade rights apply, the same as with traditional Microsoft Volume Licensing. Starting end of December 2018 the Windows Server RDS CAL is available in the CSP program with a one or three year subscription, aligned to the other Server Subscriptions for Azure.Ĭustomers can subscribe to the RDS CAL for use with Azure or for RDS access to customer owned servers (on-premises). Due to partner and customer feedback, Microsoft has now fixed this. We also reported to be surprised that the Windows Server Remote Desktop Services Client Access License (Windows Server RDS CAL) was the only Windows Server additional CAL not being available. We reported earlier on the new Server Subscriptions for Azure in the Microsoft Cloud Solutions Provider Program.
